with Release 3.0 we switched to JSF 1.2. JSF 1.2 is based on JSP 2.1, Tomcat 5.5 only supports JSP 2.0.

Consequence: Tomcat 5.5 is not adequate for Release 3.0. Tomcat 6.0 of course is adequate.

PS: If anyone knows some hint if its possible to somehow upgrade Tomat, this would be great...

after some of you telling us that Tomcat 5.5 is still in heavy use, we are now working on a compatibility layer within our JSF usage...

So we are not waiting for "dirty tricks" to upgrade Tomcat 5.5, but adapt our access to JSF so that both JSF 1.0/1.1 and 1.2 are supported.

We currently have our system working again with Tomcat 5.5 (and JSF 1.1), so you can expect this compatibility to be available with the next updat.
