sometimes users don't know what they should enter into an entryfield.
One help could be realized with the already availabe usertip, but it also whould be a nice feature if something could be written in the background of a entryfield. This can already done with bgpaint attribute.
Whats missing at the moment is, when starting to enter some text this background text should disappear (and vice versa appear if entryfield is empty)

I am not 100% sure if this way of presenting additional info is 100% great, but it was very simple for us to implement (we do something very similar with "mandatory()"), so we did it...
There's a new bgpaint command "writeifempty()" for this purpose. Available with next update or on request.

Hello,
works great on "field" controls, and "combofield",
but not so nice on "formattedfield" where the background text disapperars only after the field loses the focus - which is not what one expects. And when the text is cleared again, it does not reappear.
b.t.w. the same problems apply to the "mandatory()" feature.
regards
Manfred

Yes,
the behaviour you described with FORMATTEFIRLD is wrong. We fixed the problem, update will be available either next week or on request.
Thanks! Björn
