Hi Björn,

we use the browser component to display PDF files with AcrobatReader.
The files are displayed using a servlet.
The browser component is placed inside of a popup.
Now, we have the problem that the application hangs completely after closing the popup.
This only occurs with Acrobat 9.0, older versions work fine.

It works inside your demo workspace, but there you are not using a popup.
I constructed a small demo to show to you, but still you don't have the servlet.

... and .... yes, we like to do it with AcrobatReader, because we use some of it's features, like bookmarks, etc., which your PDF component does not provide

...hmm: just tried it, openede poup with ActiveX 20 times and closed it: no problem.

Any details...?
Does it always occur or sometimes?
On one system or on all systems?
Could you provide a client side log?

Thanks! Björn

Hi Björn,

... not everything coming from me has to do with ActiveX

Yes, it is reproducable, and happens every time,
but only if your URL leads to a document to be displayed with AcrobatReader 9.0.
Did you try that?

May be you like to have a Yuuguu session, so I can show it to you?

See the client log in the attachement....

...yes, I have the popup, I have Acrobat 9.0 latest update. Could you send me the PDF file that you open. Maybe I can reproduce with your file.

Well, yes, of course I can send you the file, but I tried with different files and it always had the same effect.

...we now added an explicit wating of the Swing thread - so that it waits for the internal browser thread to close, and only then continues. We did the same with the ACTIVEX component and had the "feeling" that this adds stability into the destroy-process that is exectue when a popup is closed.

Change is available with 20081215.
