(from mail conversation)

Which hotkey definitions can be used - and which ones are blocked by the browser or OS?

RESPONSE:

Of course this is depending on browser / operating system / keyboard! But it might be interesting to share our experiences.

We tested the following:

1. keys "a"-"z","0"-"9","F1"-"F12"
2. together with "ctrl-", "cltrl-shift", "alt", "ctrl-alt"
3. on Windows system
4. with browsers: Chrome, Firefox

RESULT: which keys NOT to use

Code:
 "ctrl-": a,c,n,t,v,w,x,y,z,F4
 "ctrl-shift": p,q,t,w,0,F10
 "alt-": F4
 "ctrl-alt": a,c,d,e,f,h,m,n,o,2,3,7,8,9,0,F4 - see comment below!

In general "ctrl-alt" in Firefox as alternative to the "altgr" key - so we recommend to not use it at all.

Kind regards! Björn
