The toolbar somehow hovers above the statusbar.

...yes, the toolbar is painted on top of the normal page in order to not occupy any additional space on the screen - and assuming taht it normally fits quite well into the statusbar region of a page.
This may override meaningful conntent (long messages in the status bar...).

We are not sure yet what we can do:
(.) if we assign a background to the "toolbar" then it looks quite ugly on normale pages
(.) if we reserve an extra region then this occupies space on the screen

Any pragmatic idea on your/someone's side...?
